Mike Olson is a Minneapolis based composer, producer and sound artist. He started out as a self taught musician, working in Rock and Jazz Fusion bands in the ‘70s. He then went on to receive his formal musical training at the University of Minnesota where he studied composition with Dominic Argento, Eric Stokes, Lloyd Ultan and Paul Fetler. Following his time at the University, Mike started his own custom audio and media production company called Intuitive, which he continues to operate to this day. Mike has always pursued two parallel career paths. One is his commercial music and related media production work, and the other is his personal art music work. The idea behind having the two parallel paths was to create a means of making a living with his corporate work that could subsidize his personal art work. That way, he wouldn't have to concern himself with questions of commerce when it came to his art. And that's how it works to this day. Mike views his personal art music compositions as being absolutely pure and highly personal self expressions.
